Video: delivering and assembling a modular house in Germany in 2.5 days
This one-minute video shows the delivery and assembly of a modular house in Germany designed for people with disabilities. The modules were manufactured in Poland and arrived on site fully finished.
Key facts
7 fully finished volumetric modules, manufactured in Poland
1,300 km of transport with night-only delivery and tight on-site conditions
Assembly on site in 2.5 days, plus 6 days of interior finishing
KfW 40 energy-efficiency standard; the blower-door test was passed
What the project shows
With finished modules, most of the work is done in the factory and the time on site is short. The difficult part is logistics and coordination: night-only delivery windows, a tight site and the handover between factory, transport and assembly. The project was a collaboration between architects, designers and the developer.
